In this 'back to front' concert the spotlight beams brightly on Alasdair and the dynamic percussion section as they drum up a storm in a pulsing, percussive party which rocks and rolls its way along a riot of rhythm. The strings or woodwind always seem to get the tune and, therefore, the limelight. Now it's time to put the record straight and reveal what an important role those girls and guys with the sticks play.

BUGS!!

Bees buzz, caterpillars crawl, butterflies flutter; the insect kingdom is taking over the orchestra! Wriggle or wiggle your way along to hear the Wasps Overture, the Ugly Bug Ball and many other hummable tunes.

Christmas Party Time

An unmissable Christmas treat. Alasdair's musical merriment provides festive fun for all the family. The music will include all sorts of Christmas crackers, and seasonal surprises to bring the Christmas spirit to every one.

Clowns Convention

Roll up, roll up, look out your baggypants, red noses and face paints and come follow the band to the Philharmonic Big Top for the crazy concert. Expect lots of clowning around to suitable silly music. Some of the players will be showing off their party pieces, plus there's a chance to hear the maddest piece of music ever written!

This special programme features pieces for puppets and music for marionettes. Puppeteers conjure up an assortment of astonishing characters as the orchestra play music to match, including ballet music from Petroushka and Coppelia, together with TV favourites the Muppets and Thunderbirds. Join in with the orchestra for a sing-along for socks!
