Alexandre Tharaud commenced piano lessons aged 5 in Paris, with teacher Carmen Taccon-Devenat, with whom he learnt “how to breathe with his instrument”. Alexandre brushes a large musical spectrum, with his recordings for harmonia mundi and ERATO and treasured collaborations with French actress Juliette Binoche, movie Director Michael Haneke, horse trainer and impresario Bartabas, as well as cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras, with whom he will release a Brahms CD in 2018. In 2009, Alexandre was distinguished by the French Ministry of Culture with the ‘Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres’ title. His second book, Montrez-moi vos mains, narrating his life as a soloist, was recently published for Grasset.
