2017 saw Marzena Diakun receive the highly regarded Paszport Polityki Prize for ‘best artist in classical music’ in Poland, her home country. This culminates an exceptional journey, which took her from Wroclaw’s Academy of Music to Vienna’s Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst, before becoming laureate of both the Prague and Fitelberg Conducting competitions. After a highly successful tenure as assistant to Mikko Franck at the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France during 2015/2016, Marzena is now travelling the world to conduct the repertoire she cherishes, encompassing works from the classical to modern eras, including contemporary works by Polish composers.
