BIOGRAPHY

British/American Julia Sitkovetsky is a lyric/dramatic coloratura soprano with a flourishing, exciting international career.

The 2018/19 season included her role and house debut as ‘Le Feu/La Princesse/Le Rossignol’ in Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortileges, and later ‘Waldovgel’ in Wagner’s Siegfried at Deutsche Oper am Rhein; she returns to Staatsoper Hannover with the role of ‘Maria’ in Manfred Trojahn’s Was ihr wollt.

In February 2019, Julia made her recital debut in Madrid Fundacion Juan March with Roger Vignoles, and the duo recently recorded a CD of the programme with Hyperion Records.

Upcoming performances include her house debut as Königin der Nacht in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte at Scottish Opera.

Julia will also return to Deutsche Oper am Rhein and the Wigmore Hall in the 19/20 season and make debuts at Teatro Municipal de Santiago di Chile and Snape Maltings, UK.

Julia was a 2019 Paris Opera Competition finalist, she was awarded the Prix Spécial du Centre Lyrique Clermont-Auvergne at the International Clermont Ferrand Competition 2017.
