...just as the sun is always... at the Busoni Competition

Composer Christian Mason’s solo piano composition ...just as the sun is always... (2006) was one of a handful of pieces selected for the semi-finals of the prestigious 61st Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition in Bolzano, Italy.

Pianists Anna Geniushene (final round), Larry Weng, and Jaeyeon Won (final round) selected the piece to perform in their semi-final repertoire.

The competition was organised in 1949 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the death of composer and pianist Ferruccio Busoni. Since its inauguration winners have included Anna Kravtchenko, Michael Ponti and Martha Argerich.
