Forooz Razavi receives high praise as she performs in Mozart’s Don Giovanni at Immling Festival

Acclaimed soprano Forooz Razavi shines with a number of excellent reviews for her role of “Donna Elvira” in Mozart’s operatic masterpiece Don Giovanni. The production, which premiered on 19 July, is rounded off with its final show today, at 19:00 at Festispielhaus Immling in Halfing, Germany.

Directed by Cornelia von Kerssenbrock, and accompanied by the Immling Festival Choir and Orchestra, the opera revolves around the seducer of Seville, “Don Giovanni” (Modestas Sedlevičius) who stops at nothing with reckless abandon to conquer the women of his affection. As one of his previous lovers, “Donna Elvira” (Forooz Razavi) is left alone, jilted, hurt and angry.

“Iranian Forooz Razavi throws herself into the role with a lot of self-irony and a dark glowing soprano of the honest and naively loving woman, for whom doesn't exist any erotic fulfilment.”

BR Klassik

“Holding her wedding dress in her arms, Forooz Razavi's dark and beautiful soprano captures Donna Elvira's sad and disgraced passion while searching for her unfaithful fiance, Don Giovanni.”
