After premiering the last and final part of his orchestral cycle in october 2022, Breitkopf & Härtel have now released an exclusive interview with christian mason about his work

On 14th of October 2022, the final part of Christian Mason’s triptych titled ‘Time and Eternity’ was premiered by Berlin’s Konzerthausorchester under the baton of Christoph Eschenbach. Described by Mason as a ‘search in sounds for fleeting consolidations of intangible experiences’, ‘An Ocean of Years’ follows on from the first two parts of the work, ‘Eternal Return’ (premiered in Wiesbaden in 2018 by the hr-sinfonieorchester), and ‘Eternity in an hour’ (premiered by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Christian Thielemann in 2019).

Breitkopf & Härtel met Christian Mason for an interview at the Konzerthaus and have released two videos (one short, one long) where the composer gives an insight into the creation of this work.
