Christian mason premieres ‘AN OCEAN OF YEARS’ with the konzerthausorchester under the baton of christoph eschenbach

This weekend, the Konzerthausorchester present three concerts in which they premiere the final part of Christian Mason’s orchestral cycle, titled ‘Time and Eternity’. ‘An Ocean of Years’ is described by Mason as being a “search in sounds for fleeting consolidations of intangible experiences”, and follows on from the first two parts of the work, ‘Eternal Return’, which was premiered in Wiesbaden in 2018 by the hr-sinfonieorchester, and ‘Eternity in an hour’, which was premiered by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Christian Thielemann in 2019. Originally planned for 2020, the premiere of this work was delayed by the Coronavirus lockdown, but now finally gets to make its debut tomorrow in the Grosser Saal of the Konzerthaus.
