Julie Mathevet performs an outstanding role in the world premiere of Pulitzer–Prize winning composer David Lang's "Prisoner of the State"

Soprano Julie Mathevet takes on the role of “The Assistant” in the world premiere of David Lang’s latest opera Prisoner of the State, at David Geffen Hall in New York.

The opera, directed by Elkhanah Pulitzer, retells Beethoven’s Fidelio; a woman's attempt to free her husband from unjust political imprisonment.
The musicians from the New York Philharmonics, conducted by Jaap van Zweden, act both as observers and participants in the prison, as the action unfolds around them.

You can see the performance on the following dates:

Thursday, 6 June 2019 at 19:30
Friday, 7 June 2019 at 20:00
Saturday, 8 June 2019 at 20:00
