Upcoming summer highlights for CLB conductors!

Following his recent success with the Seattle Symphony, Jonathon Heyward, will conduct the final concert in his tenure as assistant conductor with the Hallé next week at The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester (12 July) before embarking on a tour to Spain with the Hallé Youth Orchestra  and Hallé Youth Choir later that month.

Acclaimed conductor Quentin Hindley will start his summer season with a concert at Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, conducting the Orchestre des Jeunes de la Méditerranée at Châteauvallon Scène Nationale, Amphithéâtre in Ollioules (20 July). The vibrant programme will include works by Amir Elsaffar, Gustav Mahler and Johannes Brahms.

Following a celebrated debut with the Hallé last month, conductor Diogo Costa returns home to Portugal this summer to conduct the Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto Casa da Música at Praça Doutor José Vieira De Carvalho in Maia, on 20 July.  Catch the conductor as he presents a programme of Stravinsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, de Falla, Kodály, and Braga Santos.

Marzena Diakun will begin her summer season with a special programme presenting Space Junk by American composer Kate Moore. The work was premiered in Amsterdam this Spring and will be repeated, thanks to its exceptional success at the Wonderfeel festival (19 July) with the Asko Schönberg Chamber Orchestra.
